What Is The Catkin's Diet?

feline diabetes

Was your cat just diagnosed with feline diabetes and you don't know what to do or where to turn? You love your cat and you want him to be healthy and not have diabetes!I was in the same boat and I had no where to turn when my cat Persa got diabetes. The Catkin's Diet was my last resort and I soon discovered that it had worked! It had worked because the Catkins Diet is what your cat naturally craves.

This site is designed to teach you about the truth related to your cat's meals and about feline diabetes as a whole. The Catkinsdiet.com site is for you and your diabetic cat. Together we will learn what your diabetic cat really should be eating and how to deal with this diseases and different treatments that you should know about. We care about your cat also and want to keep your cat as healthy as possible.

Here are some facts about feline diabetes mellitus:

Cats that have diabetes mellitus are 1 in 400. A large majority of felines with diabetes tend to be male, obese, and have been neutered. From this, 80% of these cats have type 2 diabetes mellitus. Obesity seems to be the main factor and the more obvious target to preventing diabetes. It has been showed that when a cat becomes obese they have a 50% decrease in insulin sensitivity.

The main way to treat diabetes mellitus is through the administration of insulin and should be done as soon as possible after the first diagnosis. When there is good glycemic control over the diabetes then there is a reverse effect which could lead to remission for the cat. In many studies, when the diabetic cat is well controlled through the use of insulin and diet, 5 out of 10 felines went into diabetic remission within 6 to 14 weeks.

It was only recently that the scientific opinion on diets for diabetic felines has changed. The opinions now lean strongly towards their true carnivore diet (Catkins Diet), which consists of high protein low carbohydrates. Many new studies show that when the cat is on a low carb, high protein diet there is better clinical control and an increase rate of diabetic remission, an increase of 50 to 70%.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that needs constant medical attention. But with the help of the Catkins Diet we may be able to get the feline diabetes under control and hopefully into remission!

Let's feed your cat the right meals!
